Terms of use
Terms of use
Last updated 31 October 2026. These terms apply to your use of RethinkFin, run by Ajit Shukla ("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to them.
1. The service
RethinkFin reads bank statements you upload and shows you estimates of your spending, recurring payments, fees and other patterns. It's in a free public beta: features may change, break or be withdrawn, and we may limit how often you can use it.
2. Information, not advice
The results are automated estimates based only on the statements you upload. Categories come from transaction descriptions and can be wrong, and yearly amounts assume the pace seen in your statements continues. The results are not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Check the supporting transactions before you act, and speak to your bank or a qualified adviser where it matters.
3. Your responsibilities
- Upload only statements for accounts you own or are authorised to use.
- Don't upload anything unlawful, or files designed to disrupt the service.
- Don't try to get around the upload limits, probe for vulnerabilities, scrape the service or overload it.
- Don't give anyone, including us, your net banking login or card details. We will never ask for them.
4. Your data
How we handle what you upload is described in our privacy policy. In short: statements are processed in memory to produce your results and then discarded.
5. Cancellation guides and third parties
Our guides to stopping payments are general information. Banks, card issuers, payment apps and merchants set their own processes and may change them. We aren't responsible for their services or for whether a cancellation succeeds.
6. Our responsibility
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We aren't liable for decisions you make based on the results, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.
7. Changes and ending the service
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. We may suspend or end the service, or your access to it, at any time, for example to stop abuse.
8. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Navi Mumbai have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
